Counting Scale

Post by CupIsHalfEmpty on Tue Oct 13, 2015 10:58 am

A couple people had expressed interest in the Scale I had brought to the LUGBULK distribution meeting. This is the one that I have http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00IZ1YHZK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00

It has 0.1g increments which seemed to be accurate enough when counting out even the lightest lego pieces, although I did have to set it twice to count the chain links. For those of you not familiar with a counting scale, you put 20 pieces on the scale, hit the counting function, then add as many as you want of the same piece and the scale tells you the quantity instead of the weight. Work fantastic for all those 2000+ 1x1's !

Do you zero it out with a container on top? I imagine it made the sort a lot easier / quicker.

It comes with two containers, but I had brought along a light weight kitchen mixing bowl that held a higher capacity. I zero out the scale with the bowl on it. Then hit the pieces function, add 20 Lego pieces, then hit the 20 pieces setting and it's good to go.

Definitely made it go faster, although I think it made the other members lazy as they kept bringing bags my way they didn't want to count out Razz !
