Harry Potter layout

A few of us have been talking over the last few months about putting together a Harry Potter themed train layout for our 2018 show season, because:
a) someone suggested we should at the last Saskatoon Train Show
b) the first HP book was published on this continent in 1998, so, it's 20 years old
c) it would be a super-big layout, so there's lots to build for it and it'll look SUPER RAD!!!

Originally, there were a handful of us involved, but if anyone else is interested, you're more than welcome. We're hoping have it completed and on display by the Saskatoon Train Show in February. We'll show it again in Moose Jaw (March), Regina (May), BRICKSPO (July) and possibly Brickery (October)

Whatever area you're working on, please make sure to discuss where / how it will match up with those areas around yours.

Andre: King’s Cross Station, Hogwarts Express, Angela

Kylee: Privet Dr., Patronus

Ray M: Tri-Wizard Ship, Hogwarts staircase (tentative)

Jeff: in-fill trees

Lorelie: Hogsmead area

Ray J: Azog, Whomping Willow, Knight Bus

Adam: Diagon Alley, Wooden Bridge, Quidditch Pitch, Hogwarts Base and Front entry, the Burrow

Caleb: Hagrid’s hut and area

Tom: Bridge and coast (tentative)

Trent: Hogwarts Grand Hall!

Karen: Hogwarts: Greenhouse

D-Yaffe: Hogwarts Classrooms

A few notes to add:

- we will be populating the layout with 'fleshy' figs, not the yellow characters. This is because there are more HP figs in this colour.

- we should have enough track between those who own track to cover the layout. If you do not own track but have some on your area, please plan for it or borrow some when you are putting things together.

Hey team!

Wondering if I might pick up the Burrow. Should be fun and could come together quickly.

As our other two spots have not yest been claimed, I wondered about a plan B. Thinking to put the Burrow area around where the maze would go then using the former Burrow area for small related MOCs. Thinking Ray's under the stairs or other such details like that.

Anyway, feel free to give an update on how things are progressing.

Excellent. I finished the rough base of Hogwarts today. I'll bring some bits and pieces to jazz it up at the Toon show with the placement of buildings.
