Elves Podracers for Brickcan '19
So, I'm not going to Brickcan ( ), but those that are have a GREAT idea and are looking outside their ranks to help out with it!
Ray M. introduced the idea on the What's App: taking the beloved Star Wars: Episode 1 sequence of the Podrace, and adapting it to the style of the LEGO Elves line.
Explain more I hear you say. Okay, here goes...
In the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode 1, young soon-to-be jedi Anakin Skywalker is a slave on the planet of Tatooine. There, he is forced to pilot a podracer in fasted-paced and dangerous races. A podracer is characterized as a: one-man vehicle featuring a cockpit placed behind two huge engines. Please look at the image below for reference:
As you can see, the pilots cockpit is dragged along by two larger engines. This example is Anakin's podracer from the movie, and is a smaller example of a podracer. As mentioned, these crafts would race through a set course (think rally cars) as they complete to cross the finish line first. Many people would come out to view this event, congregating at the start / finish line and watching the action unfold on screens.
To translate this into our purposes, Ray has suggested that we use the Dragons (and other creatures) from the Elves series as the 'engines' of our 'podracers' as the race through the forest.
To highlight all of the builds, Ray suggested the scene be at the start / finish line of the race, with all of the racers lined up, ready to begin.
If you have the inclination to help out, it would be a good idea to first talk to Ray M, so he has some idea of how many racers there are going to be. After that, you'd need to acquire a pair of 'engines' / 'creatures'. Many of us have the Elves sets with the creatures, but usually just one copy. If you put out what creature you're looking to use, there's a good chance someone will be able to help you with a pairing of that creature.
For any other aspects of the builds, don't hesitate to ask. There are a number of learned Star Wars / Elves nerd out there who would love to discuss this at length with you.

Based on the discussion in the What's App, and then edited as people continue to claim, here are the types of creatures already 'claimed' (with set number from) and who they are 'claimed' by. This is not to say that, if need be, creature 'engines' could not be repeated:
Jason M - Elves Airship (41184) and Orange Lion (41192)
Adam - Thunderbird (75952)
Colby - Flying Turtle (41191?)
Nicole - Green Dragon (41176)
Karen - Medium Azure Dragon (41172)
Melissa - White Wolf (41195)
Darcy - Thestrals (75951)
Ray M - Stone Dragons (head from 8962)
Tom D - Purple Dragon (41178?)
Jayson L - Dark Purple Dragon (41187)

If you need more inspiration, check out the video from the movie below:

I have the azure blue dragon (I will build this pod racer) but only one so I'll need a loaner. Also I have a pegasus (but also only 1). I have a green dragon (if Nicole needs a second dragon)

I'm gonna change it up a little and do a pair of stone dragons using Crystal King Heads...????
As far as the start line, I'm envisioning using 48x48 baseplates.... 3 wide and 2 deep, although with the interest we may have to go wider.
I'll try to get off my butt and make some visuals for reference.

So, I have to get a hold of another purple dragon, and build some sort of a pod racer thing that attaches to the 2 dragons. Simple as that? Of course if anyone had a spare purple dragon...

Going for a "lunar republic" aesthetic.
