LDD - Supported by Lego - Rumours
Rumours have been posted on the internet about Lego no longer supporting LDD. Here is a recent statement to clear up the rumours:
Dear Ambassadors, I hope this will help clarify a bit of the confusion and misunderstanding from our end regarding LDD. TLG will remain committed to digital building going forward, in regards to LDD, this means that we will continue to support the current functionality. We will not be doing automatic updates on elements, however elements will continue to be added from time to time. Unfortunately we cannot ensure that all elements are made available. I can see that the message has spread widely in the community and I hope that you will assist us in spreading this message as well. Thank you!

Re: LDD - Supported by Lego - Rumours
As a CAD drafter, I never understood WHY it is so hard for LTD to release ALL they LEGO parts in LDD format.
They should already have all the LEGO parts in some kind of a CAD format anyway for they own production.
I never liked LDD, and I was always hoping for a better LEGO program to come out someday in the future.

I think they are not all released because this would drag the program's speed down even more. The more parts you have in an assembly in cad, the more resources you require. Since I stopped doing cad, my computer upgrades have slowed down drastically. My biggest problem with LDD is it is not very friendly when matting surfaces or rotation of the assembly.

My conspiracy idea.
It's giving every kit Lego ever made for free; people aren't buying.
LDAW/MLCAd is getting updates - I've always preferred those to LDD.

After doing dumb things in all of them and crashing without saving, I prefer the real bricks lol
